A Trip to Udaipur

With the monsoon season creeping up on us, our favorite hill stations are getting a tad slippery and we’re wondering where to go next. Only one place came to mind: Udaipur. Also known as the city of lakes, Udaipur is a beautiful combination of nature and the city, the past, and the present, and of luxury and austerity. In a world where people can’t pass even a single day without the help of technology or machinery, it's interesting to see a city that has preserved its original essence and redefined certain historically eminent places according to the present world.

When you're curious about historical periods, Udaipur is a great place to go. Despite the well-known lakes, Udaipur's oldest structure, which dates back almost 400 years, still stands strong and tall. Join us as we explore some of the most beautiful spots in Udaipur, often known as the Florence of the East, and the range of activities provided locally.

City Palace:

There are several palaces and Havelis in this city, however, most of them are currently converted into personal hotels, so regrettably, not many of us get to see the splendor of some of the Mahals. The City Palace, which was constructed in 1559 and is among its most exquisite and historic buildings, is open to tourists.   Don’t want to spend money on a guide? Sajjangarh Palace:

Located up on the Aravalli Hills, far outside of Udaipur,  Castle, commonly referred to as the monsoon castle, is renowned for offering a stunning perspective over the city, particularly in the rainy season. Additionally, this castle emits a golden yellow glow in the nights when it is not raining. It's a fantastic location to see the sunset as well. The nearby Sajjangarh Wildlife Sanctuary is a different location you might go to.

Jaisamand Lake:

Boating on Pichola lakes is one of the most well-liked tourist activities, but you may also go boat on Jaisamand Lake, the second-largest manmade lake throughout Asia, or Dhebar Lake. It takes around two hours by car to get there from City Palace.

Bagore Ki Haveli

What is a trip to Rajasthan without the celebration of paintings art and culture? Bagore Ki Haveli is just the place for those who want to rejoice in the cultural side of Rajasthan. Here, you can catch dance performances and dramatic acts performed in the evening. You might want to reach here earlier so you can take a tour of the haveli and the museum. Restaurant Ambrai

Ideally located on the banks of Pichola Lake with a panoramic view of Jagdish Temple, Gangaur Ghat, City Palace, Lake Palace, Jag Mandir, and Sajjangarh Fort, Restaurant Ambrai becomes one of the main tourist hangout/romantic spots. This restaurant is part of the Amet Haveli which was built by the rule of Maharana Jagat Singh Ji –2nd of Udaipur (between 1734-1752 A.D) who is also known for building the Jag Niwas presently known as Lake Palace. Further, this restaurant specializes center in tasty Rajasthani delicacies.

Jag Mandir Palace:

Jag Mandir is a beautiful historical palace built at the center of Pichola Lake. This palace is privately owned by the HRH Group of Hotels who have turned it into a luxury hotel and is not open to the general public. However,  you can opt for a romantic evening boat ride and fine dining at the Jag Mandir.

In addition to its textiles and handicraft industries, Udaipur is well-known for producing silver jewelry. There are a lot of stores here, but The Metal Silver Corners is the most well-known, so you must check it out.

How to Reach:

Now, coming to the best part about Udaipur, it is very close to Delhi. It takes about 10–11 hours by road to reach this magnificent city. Further,  you can also fly to Udaipur; and book a flight. And can also take a bus to this place.
