Ingenious performing artist Mithun Chakraborty on Monday said that he was at a misfortune for words after the government declared that he would be regarded with the prestigious Dadasaheb Phalke Grant. Calling himself a "boy from the pathways of Kolkata," the 74-year-old said that he may have never envisioned being offered such respect.

"I have no dialect to specify how I feel. Na primary hass sakta hun, na khushi mein ro sakta hun (I cannot grin, nor can I cry in bliss)," Mithun told the news organisation ANI.

The 74-year-old performing artist will get the grant at the 70th National Film Grants ceremony, which can be held on October 8, 2024.
